As it turns out, winter only last a few months. So soon me excuse will be leaving me. The tar paper was hung on the sheathing with care in hopes that Marja would make up her mind an side the side the place already.
My plan for most of the new addition is a rainscreen: Tyvek Drainwrap, 3/4" furring strips 16" on center, 4' x 8' Hardipanels with exposed stainless steel fasteners. I'm planning 1/8 inch reveals horizontally and vertically. Still going back and forth on using Vaproshield UV tape behind the exposures or using thin strips of galvanized metal over the furring strips along the entire reveal.
I am now taking suggestions, comments and even criticism.

I like the idea of backing the exposures with galvanized. I bet you get some at a local metal depot.
